Android for the Vogue package updates to newest SDK

Martin (or dzo) has released another update for the Vogue, updating his release to the newest SDK available from Google, which was made available from last monday.
This release has broken a few custom applications made by some, as the phone keyboard now needs to be written, and the previous method used an on screen keyboard [...]

Transit directions now available via Google Maps on Windows Mobile

Apparently this was released without much fanfare, but Google Maps Mobile v2.2.0.16 for your Windows Mobile smartphone / pocketpc has been released, which means it now provides transit directions on the go.
This makes me extremely happy, but annoyed as well, as it was released quietly — I’m even subscribed to the Google Latlong blog.

Another update regarding Android on the Vogue

Here’s the notes from Martin:
The SD driver now works, this means you don’t have to run [...]

He’s rewritten his touchscreen and on screen keyboard drivers, and I agree that it’s much more usable now, although I miss the haptic feedback.  SMS notifications are implemented but a bit buggy.  I didn’t test the browser updates from the last update, [...]

Updates to Android running on the HTC Vogue

The developer’s made A TON of improvements, the RIL (radio interface library) now works properly so you can send and receive calls, and send and receive text messages (SMS) in a basic fashion now. As soon as I can get write access to a memory card so I can save my contacts someplace, [...]

HTC Touch running android

A coder in New Zealand bought a HTC Touch (rebranded as an OKTA Touch) wasn’t too impressed with Windows Mobile 6, and has begun porting Google’s Android OS over! His recent released version boots fine, only the joystick and volume keys work, but this a a very good step in the right direction.
Here’s a [...]
